Welcome to Oregon Bridge

The Welcome to Oregon Bridge was designed by artist Ed Carpenter and engineer Bob Grummel as a celebration of the passage from Idaho into Oregon on Interstate 84 at Ontario. Created for a competition organized by the Oregon Department of Transportation, the colorful design utilizes radiating tension and compression members to suggest the vitality of the State of Oregon and the westward views of the setting sun.
